How long have you worked at Apex Lifts?

I’ve had the pleasure of working at Apex Lifts for 20 years.

What’s your background? i.e. qualifications

I started with a four year apprenticeship at Ford, before completing j5 and j26 modules at an established lift company. I worked as a modernisation engineer on key elevators around London then as a repairs callout engineer as well as a Mods Supervisor before joining Apex.

What does your day-to-day job involve?
As Construction Director, I'm responsible for managing Apex Lifts construction and the team of project managers, site supervisors and modernisation engineers.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

I love meeting new people and the challenges they bring.

What was the best project you worked on?

My top three projects have to be getting to work on the Lloyd’s of London lifts due to the sheer the scale of project, Greenwich and Woolwich foot tunnels for the history surrounding the lifts and 1 Canada Square as it’s the UK’s highest single lift.

What’s your favourite building in London?

Tower Bridge at night is my favourite place in the city.

What are you interests outside of work?

I like to lead an active lifestyle and particularly enjoy go-karting and cycling.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Tall, dark and handsome.

We’re off to the pub – what’s your order?

A Peroni – bottle of course.

Favourite biscuit?

You can’t go wrong with a classic dark chocolate Digestive.
