How long have you worked at Apex Lifts?
It will be 19 years this November.
What’s your background/what are your past experiences?
Before starting at Apex, I worked as a labourer for a powder coating company. Apex then offered me a job as a tea boy, which involved me tidying the office, helping out here and there and of course, making tea and coffee! Once they saw my potential, they offered me an apprenticeship and from there I progressed to the job I have now.
What does your day-to-day job involve?
I always make sure the correct materials and tools are in place and ready for staff to use. I handle any issues that come up on a job, complete office work and answer calls.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
The people – they’re a lovely bunch!
What do you find the most challenging about your job?
Definitely meeting deadlines. Sometimes four or five jobs will be concurrent with each other so it can be a challenge to make sure they all get done on time.
What’s your favourite building in London?
The Natural History Museum.
What are your interests outside of work?
I love spending quality time with my family. We love going to soft play areas and parks, depending on the weather.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Happy to help.
We’re off to the pub – what’s your order?
Jack Daniels and coke.
Favourite biscuit?
Chocolate bourbon.
