We have recently had the pleasure of being joined by student Jack Couder, who completed his work experience at Apex Lifts. With hopes of working in the construction industry in the future, Jack joined us here at Apex to gain a better understanding of the lift industry, as well as explore the types of work he would like to pursue in the near future.
Jack spent the first part of his week working for three days at our in-house manufacturing facility located in Sidcup, where he was provided with the chance to get a ‘hands on’ learning experience. Here, Jack got to learn about the different types of machinery and tools that our workshop staff utilise to create our bespoke lifts and see the different components involved in the manufacturing process.
For the rest of his time with us, Jack worked alongside our head office team in Bexleyheath. Shadowing one of our Service Contract Managers, Steve Minns, Jack was shown how to use our in-house Lift Data IT system to check insurance report completions, as well as carrying out data inputting tasks on Excel spreadsheets.
Commenting on his time at Apex, Jack said, “I have had a good insight into the different areas of the company. One common denominator I found at Apex was that the staff were so welcoming and friendly and I have really enjoyed my time working with them.”
“Having Jack working with us has been a really enjoyable experience,” - says Warren, Apex Lifts’ Managing Director. “It’s great to see younger generations continuing to show an interest in the construction industry and our line of work. We hope to see Jack again soon and wish him all the best with his future career endeavours.”
