Apex Lifts helps ‘Make-A-Wish’ make a dream come true for boy who loves lifts

01 May 2016

On April 2nd 2016, Apex Lifts helped ‘Make-A-Wish’ children’s charity as they granted 12 year old James his wish of riding up and down some of the most prestigious lifts in London. James spent the day site-seeing in London before riding lifts in the Shard and Lloyd’s of London building.

Established in the UK in 1986, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 10,000 magical wishes to enrich the lives of children fighting life-threatening conditions. John Roberts, Service Director at Apex Lifts who worked on the Lloyd’s of London lift refurbishment, was invited to accompany James on the day.

“James is fascinated by: the mechanisms that cause the doors to move, pushing the buttons to make them light up and he just loves going up and down.” explains John. “I was delighted to be involved and help to make the day perfect for him. James is an amazing young boy and it was lovely to see him so happy.”

“The amazing work achieved by Make-A-Wish wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of the volunteers who donate their time and money to give children who need it most, something to get excited about.”
