The management and staff at Apex Lifts are kept informed about the requirements for lifts and all new legislation which will affect the design and operation of lifts.

Currently, the one most significant legislation is the Disabilities Discrimination Act (D.D.A.). The DDA requires those buildings with lifts must be accessible to people with disabilities. From October 1, 2004, the final rights of access are in force.

These changes have an immense impact on companies and failure to comply can result in fines. For further information and a self assessment audit, click on the DDA link at the top of the page.

To see whether your lifts meet the requirements of the Act and comply with European and British Standards (EN 81-70, Building Regulations Part M and BS 8300) click through to the Apex Lifts Access Audit Form. When you have completed and submitted the form to us, we will provide an assessment on your lift and indicate any necessary alterations to comply with current standards. We can then work with you to make the changes in a cost-effective and timely manner.
